Overview

As the warehouse manager, you will lead safe, effective and efficient warehouse operations for the Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Center in Mebane, NCYou will lead all warehouse staff and oversee all functional operations of the DC warehouse, which includes ensuring the seamless integration of warehouse and transportation operations. Above all, you will drive top-notch customer service to Restaurant Operators by creating superior warehouse procedures and service standards for the Distribution Center. The warehouse manager will also help drive continued innovation at an operation like no other in the food service industry.

Responsibilities

As the warehouse manager, you will lead the safe, accurate and timely operations for receiving, putting away, staging, loading and other warehouse activities, while ensuring good stewardship of resources. You will also ensure staff are properly trained in all relevant procedures and practices while instilling a culture of safety, engagement and positivity that reflects Chick-fil-A values and honors the role of Operators. You also will: 

  • Implement warehouse procedures and service standards consistent with organizational guidelines 
  • Collaborate closely with management and other teams including planning, sales and transportation to recognize operational bottlenecks and identify ways to streamline and improve as needed  
  • Assess the cost and performance of current and alternative warehouse procedures and service standards 
  • Lead resource planning for warehouse staff and communicate to the staffing lead 
  • Lead shift planning and scheduling for warehouse staff 
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations 
  • Support operational audits 
  • Evaluate and communicate operational results to DC leaders 
  • Coordinate with service providers as needed 
  • Define and communicate warehouse equipment needs (e.g. MHE, racking) 

  • Define and manage key performance indicators for warehouse 
  • Balance the needs of the Operator with the capabilities of the operation 
  • Manage budget of warehouse operations at the DC 
  • Support Chick-fil-A vision and strategy 
  • Drive innovation in the Distribution Center operation 
  • Complete other activities as deemed valuable by management

 

As the warehouse manager, you are: 

  • A self-starter with excellent project management and organization skills 
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills; a team player who can work independently when necessary 
  • Keenly interested and engaged in finding solutions for continuous improvement 
  • A detail-oriented but creative problem solver and communicator (both written and verbal) 
  • Able to anticipate needs, lead multiple projects, and manage shifting priorities 
  • Able to travel for 20 percent of the job for visits to Chick-fil-A Operators, markets and suppliers, as well as related conferences 
  • An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) 

Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must: 

  • Demonstrate functional knowledge and expertise in food service distribution: 
  • Warehousing – ambient as well as refrigerated zones 
  • Operations (including Six Sigma and Lean) 
  • Engineering standards 
  • Warehouse equipment 
  • Sanitation and GMPs 
  • Performance metrics  
  • Supplier management 
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of innovations in supply chain and warehousing 
  • Have at least five years of experience with food service distribution leadership 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Motivational leadership skills, including the ability to energize others to excel and gain commitment to the organization’s vision and strategies 
  • Experience in working in a scalable distribution environment 
  • At least 10 years as part of DC leadership with warehouse responsibility
