Overview

As Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods continue to scale, we must think strategically about our current capabilities and long-term goals to determine the best talent strategy to meet our growing business needs. The Lead Advisor supports the day-to-day operations of the talent team by administering and ensuring compliance across occupational and non-occupational related leave of absence programs, return to work processes and accommodations. The Lead Advisor will be responsible for staying current on payroll and timekeeping-related legislative and regulatory changes and work with the relevant teams to make necessary changes to practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration and serve as subject matter expert for disability and leave management programs including, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, state/local paid/unpaid leave offerings and company-paid leave programs, while ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Collaborate internally and externally to innovate processes, recommend system enhancements or vendor changes, and streamline administration
  • Implement and communicate changes to benefit policies coordinating execution with local Talent Leaders. 
  • Partner with Legal and local Talent Leaders to ensure legal compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements, and company policies and practices 
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes and best practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations, time off plans, and paid sick leave policies across the various employee populations at Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods in partnership with Legal and Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s Payroll Center of Excellence
  • Create scalable leave of absence solutions that support ongoing efficiencies for growth
  • Represent Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center in prioritizing leave of absence technology and benefit offerings to enhance the employee experience 
  • Partnership with Chick-fil-A, Inc. on review of payroll and timekeeping systems.  Supports the rollout of system updates and changes to the processes within the distribution network 
  • Document and maintain detailed written processes
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information in strict accordance with Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods confidentiality and data security policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR experience, including at least 1 year in a distribution or manufacturing environment and at least 1 year managing leave and/or benefits 
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Working knowledge of multi-state benefit plans, state applicable leaves (including California), and ADA best practices 
  • Working knowledge of payroll administration and timekeeping systems 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and practices 
  • Ability to occasionally travel, including overnight trips 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HR experience, including 2+ years in a distribution or manufacturing, and at least 3 years managing leave and/or benefits 
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA, etc.) for all functions performed in a distribution facility 
  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills 
  • Excellent knowledge of the ADA Interactive process 
  • Working knowledge of processing Worker’s Compensation claims and OSHA recordability criteria 
  • Proven experience in training and communication development and delivery 
  • Project management experience  
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases at once 
  • Energetic and driven; high degree of self-motivation and discipline with a keen ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately 
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines 
  • Startup experience
