As a Chick-fil-A Supply yard jockey, you will move tractors, trailers, and straight trucks in a safe, accurate, and timely manner at distribution center yards. You are a safe, professional driver who follows all company policies and laws and regulations regarding commercial drivers. In this role, based at the Distribution Center in Cartersville, Georgia, you will help support continued innovation at an operation like no other in the food service industry.

In addition to making safe, accurate, and timely yard movements, the yard jockey will:
o Comply with all regulatory and company policy requirements:
o Operating within hours of service limits per the use of an electronic logging device (ELD)
o Maintain an acceptable Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) record
o Follow all pre- and post-trip equipment inspection and DVIR reporting procedures
o Following all policies and procedures in the FSMA regarding safe food transport
o Immediately notifying team leaders of any accident or on the job injury and complete reports
o Wearing appropriate personal protective gear as required per policy
o Abide by yard safety procedures, speed limits, parking, pedestrian crossings, safety vests
Manage time off to ensure proper rest and operate in compliance with DOT regulations
Maintain a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
Prepare for shifts to rotate
Attend shift in proper attire and with PPE and safety equipment as required by company guidelines
Work in a multi-temperature environment including freezer temperatures
Communicate effectively with stakeholders including Distribution Center staff
Adapt to change and respond to difficult and challenging situations in a professional manner
Manage pressure and conflicting demands; prioritize tasks and workload
Able to travel 5% for supplier visits and/or stranded tractor/trailer movements due to Hours of Service constraints on delivery drivers
