Overview

The Lead Analyst, Inventory Solutions will be responsible for developing analytical solutions to drive operational efficiencies and shape the inventory strategy for Chick-fil-A Supply’s Inventory and Demand Planning team.  This team is responsible for ensuring all Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Centers (DC) have optimal inventory levels to support fulfillment of restaurant orders and ultimately support high levels of service to Chick-fil-A guests.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will be an independent thinker with a passion for driving organizational improvements and results by leveraging their advanced analytical skills and experience.  This role will require analytics of complex data sets and data driven insights that result in clear understanding and actionable recommendations for the business.  This individual should be comfortable and competent in collaborating with partners to understand business problems, working through data challenges, and conveying clear and compelling insights to stakeholders. Furthermore, this role will be uniquely challenged with their participation in the building of a robust demand planning and inventory management organization. This role will report to the Principal Team Leader, Inventory and Demand Planning and resides in Chick-fil-A Supply LLC.

 

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert in inventory and demand planning data, tools, reporting and systems that consume relevant data
  • Develop models to determine optimal inventory policies and parameters to support changing demand
  • Leverage data analytics tools to create new dashboards, reports, and any additional ad-hoc requests
  • Present findings in easily understandable ways with a focus on how the data analytics fit into the bigger picture for the organization
  • Partner with IT teams to document, develop, test and support production solutions and enhance replenishment algorithms
  • Blends comprehensive knowledge of Supply Chain data and operational strategies to solve everyday business problems
  • Work comfortably with large and complex datasets that span multiple areas and understand how to blend and model data effectively
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data & analytics, supply chain, engineering, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and/or forecasting
  • Strong aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to produce scalable and repeatable analytic processes
  • Strong SQL programming skills
  • Experience building reports/analyses on large data sets using analytical tools (e.g. Excel, JMP, SAS, Tableau, etc.)
  • Keen eye for detail and thoughtful investigation of data
  • Ability to translate complex data into compelling stories
  • General understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Humility to come in and learn a new business, while applying relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in data & analytics or statistical modeling
  • Experience in a demand planning or inventory management role
  • Familiarity with cloud data environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
  • Intermediate understanding of a scripting/compiled/statistical programming language (e.g. Python, R, .NET, C++, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management systems
