Overview

This position includes the coordination and managing of Inventory Planning related activities associated with both the implementation of new Distribution Centers (DCs) as well as ongoing daily and continuous improvement activities in existing DCs. This DC Support Sr. Analyst should be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where they will be depended on to resolve complex and often time-sensitive problems.  The DC Support Sr. Analyst also plays a key role in the training and deployment of best practices during implementation of new facilities.  This staff member should have a strong customer service mindset and be comfortable interfacing with teams across the organization including senior leadership.

This position requires the use of a diverse range of skills and experiences in the overall support of company operations and requires a high degree of independence in the execution of these responsibilities. The role works closely with the Chick-fil-A Supply leadership team to establish and continually improve the organization’s performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective supply chain management methods and strategies. This role will report to the Principal Team Lead, Inventory and Demand Planning and resides in Chick-fil-A Supply LLC.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Inventory Planning team and Distribution Center (DC) Operations
  • Provide new facility implementation training and support for inbound policies and best practices
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and support objectives that drive efficiency and quality for inbound receiving and inventory management within the DCs
  • Work directly with internal and external distribution partners to evaluate contingent sources of supply to prevent stock shortages across the network
  • Evaluate purchase order receiving schedules and ensure alignment between inbound volume and DC capacity
  • Monitor DC inventory projections and work with the Inventory Planning team to help ensure optimal inventory levels across the Chick-fil-A Supply network
  • Ensure clear and timely communication to DC Inventory teams and Customer service as it relates to supply constraints, item transition exceptions and limited time offers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering or other related field
  • General understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Strong aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Humility to come in and learn a new business, while applying relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of basic procurement and transportation practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an inventory planning or inventory operations role
  • Experience building reports/analyses on large data sets using analytical tools (e.g. Excel, JMP, SAS, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience analyzing large data sets using analytical techniques
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management, and Transportation Management systems
