Overview

The Implemetation Sr. Project Lead, Safety, Quality & Compliance (“SQC”) serves as a strategic business advisor, providing SQC consultation to staff and leaders and developing resources to match business needs as the organization grows. This role will support the SQC Team in the design and execution of SQC strategy and initiatives across Chick-fil-A Supply facilities as we scale. This role will be tasked with providing strategic and tactical SQC consulting and thought leadership in the areas of Environmental Health & Safety (“EHS”), Food Safety & Quality Assurance (“FSQA”), and Fleet Safety & Compliance (“FSC”) for all new facilities to ensure consistency for the brand.

This subsidiary is in the early stages of development and is a dynamic, fast-paced work environment focused on launching this new service to Restaurants across the nation.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Implementation Team and SQC Sr. Leadership to design people initiatives and talent strategies to implement, manage and improve the communication and execution of SQC initiatives and strategies across the network
  • Leads implementation of all SQC requirements (Environmental Health & Safety, Food Safety/Quality Assurance and Fleet Safety & DOT Compliance) across the CFA Supply network and ensures consistent execution at start-up
  • Ensures the start-up of Chick-fil-A Supply operations comply with all governmental regulations, including but not limited to compliance with FDA, USDA, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Coordinate and/or lead FSQA, EHS, and Security training for all new team members, drivers, navigators, and leaders
  • Leads safety and compliance culture activation and sustainment across the network by developing, maintaining and promoting a culture that aligns with the Chick-fil-A Supply values of care, safety and excellence, in support of the Chick-fil-A Supply vision and strategy
  • Serves as a strategic thought partner to Implementation Team, SQC Leadership, and DC leaders by sharing internal and external best practices, planning and facilitating SQC working sessions, and designing and executing initiatives to ensure a successful start-up of all new Chick-fil-A Supply facilities
  • Analyzes SQC data and trends, leveraging safety and compliance metrics, people analytics and storytelling techniques to share visual messaging
  • Designs and oversees multiple, concurrent projects or deliverables, working collaboratively with teams to share learnings across the network, in support of business objectives
  • Complete other activities as deemed valuable by the organization
  • Support organizational growth and future distribution center openers by participating in interview events, training/onboarding and providing temporary SQC support, if needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 or more years in an EHS or FSQA role in food distribution or manufacturing, project management and/or new facility implementation
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge and expertise in distribution:
  • Standards, processes, systems and contingencies related to food safety, general safety, quality specifications, and all relevant laws and regulations
  • Compliance and risk performance metrics, measurement and enforcement
  • Employee training programs
  • 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past five years
  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based, collaborative relationships and influence others
  • Self-starter with natural tendency to take initiative and work independently
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities and anticipating needs
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking, problem solving and consulting skills
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to influence, collaborate, negotiate, and obtain buy-in/alignment across multiple levels of an organization
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal business communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office software and comfortable learning new software/systems
  • Experience with accident investigations, including auditing and monitoring procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Active HACCP, PCQI, CSP or similar certifications
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FDA, DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA, etc.) for all functions performed in a distribution facility
  • Strong program or project management experience
  • Start-up experience
  • Experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certified professional
