Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIE) will be responsible for building and utilizing indirect influence to deliver a supply chain wide process improvement process, with governance, that will ultimately grow into an integrated business process to enable, track, and ensure Chick-fil-A Supply’s and its partners most efficient use of resources and capital for optimization and supply chain wide goal delivery.

This subsidiary is in the early stages of development and is a dynamic, fast-paced work environment focused on launching this new service to Restaurants across the nation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Inc., other Chick-fil-A supply functions, external business partners, and operations to identify, manage, and lead process optimization projects to improve efficiencies and drive out cost
  • Lead Kaizen events, Value Stream mapping workshops, and other lean initiatives at multiple distribution centers. Training and educating leadership while identifying, standardizing, and driving better business practice sharing across the supply chain
  • Own high visibility OGSM related capability projects, updating the business on deliverables and timelines
  • Lead the supply chain wide cost out project tracking, reporting to senior leadership progress versus targets, timelines, and escalate barriers
  • Assist operations leveraging DMAIC and other problem-solving techniques to close gaps versus PQDCSM score card targets
  • Utilize simulation software to analyze and /or improve work systems
  • Conduct onboarding training for hourly and leadership positions introducing the Center of Business Excellence department, including core systems and tools required to complete leader standard work
  • Serve as main point of contact for capacity, process improvements tasks, and standard time inquiries
  • Provide coverage for the process engineering team. Supporting with the implementation of new distribution centers, capabilities, and onsite support
  • Partner with Change Management office to ensure vertical startups, project adoption, and reporting
  • Exhibit a positive, can-do attitude, in all interactions, being a change agent delivering results with care and customer focus
  • Develop lessons learned and best practice systems, policies, and procedures to leverage across multiple areas within the business

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant business experience, Manufacturing / Distribution Center preferred
  • 3+ years multi-site regional support, with supply chain wide ownership of supply chain objective(s)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Capital Project experience, with review boards and integrated business planning exposure
  • Strong Business Finance Acumen (EBITA, ROI, IRR, GL, P&L)
  • Experience leading and driving successful large scale project hopper and reporting
  • 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, SMED, process improvement projects
  • business communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tableau / Power BI proficiency
  • Professional Project Management Certificate (PMP)
  • Change Management Certification
