Overview

The Subsidiary Staff Communications team serves Chick-fil-A’s subsidiaries, Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods, by executing effective, compelling internal communications that build culture, drive change and support business goals. This individual will support the team’s vision of creating clarity and alignment by inspiring, educating and equipping internal audiences.

 

Specifically, this individual will focus on supporting a set of business leaders within Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods to create and execute communications strategies and tactics in support of Staff and Team Members at both subsidiaries.

 

This individual will be responsible for collaborating with Corporate Communications and other partners in Chick-fil-A, Inc. to develop strategic communications messaging on enterprise-wide initiatives, represent Subsidiary Staff Communications on cross-functional teams, produce quarterly Staff meetings, and serve as Editor for Staff-Wide and People Leader newsletters.

 

To be successful in this role, the communicator must be resourceful, collaborative, and able to quickly learn the business, its audiences, and their needs.

Responsibilities

Business partner: Provide strategic business thinking around key strategies and initiatives, connecting to strategies in the business and across Chick-fil-A, Inc., where needed

 

Communications consulting: Build understanding of identified teams and initiatives to effectively create strategic communications plans, then execute tactics to help business partners achieve their goals

 

Change communications: Identify the impact on target audiences and develop messaging to support internal audiences through change

 

Messaging: Develop messaging, narratives, scripting and other written content with accuracy, clarity, and consistency

 

Cross-functional team representation: Provide strategic business thinking around key strategies and initiatives, connecting to broad enterprise strategies

 

Project oversight: Support and execute deadline-driven communications initiatives, on budget and on time, using appropriate combinations of vendors, contractors, agencies, and in-house services

 

Relationship builder: Highly collaborative style and has the ability to influence and build alignment at all levels and across multiple teams and departments

 

Audience: Understand Staff needs to tailor communications in the appropriate manner, including delivering strategic messages across a variety of digital, video and print platforms

 

Continuous improvement: Constant desire to learn how to improve work and translate key communication trends into the into the fast-paced, rapidly growing distribution businesses

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field, such as English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate communications function or communications agency,
    communicating with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Track record as a communicator who thrives on managing a variety of initiatives concurrently and on deadline
  • Self-starter able to work independently or in a group, adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to communicate well with team members and leaders to meet goals and deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and drive execution across multiple priorities
  • Willingness to grow and take on new responsibilities, including identification of better ways of working

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in internal communications
  • Working knowledge of distribution (warehouse) operations
  • Understanding of franchised and/or highly matrixed organizations
