Overview

This position entails the leadership of people and processes relative to Inventory Planning activities for Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Centers (DC). This will require the utilization of a diverse range of skills and personal experience and includes forecasting, inventory management, and other analytical activities to optimize the flow of product into and between Chick-fil-A Supply DCs.

 

This role requires the ability to inspire, lead and grow a team of supply chain professionals with care. This Sr. Team Leader works closely with the Chick-fil-A Supply leadership team to establish and continually improve the organization’s performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective supply chain management methods and strategies. Furthermore, this role will be uniquely challenged with their participation in the building of a robust demand planning and inventory management organization and will be responsible for the inventory forecast and supply planning for 15 DCs by the end of 2026 that distribute products to 50% of Chick-fil-A restaurants.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, lead, develop and grow a team of supply chain professionals to support the increasing Chick-fil-A Supply DC network services and complexities
  • Manage, create and execute inventory strategies and purchasing procedures to ensure sufficient inventory and service levels are achieved while maintaining inventory productivity objectives
  • Manage lane assignments and balance workload for a team of Sr. Analysts as new DCs and restaurants are onboarded into the Chick-fil-A Supply Network
  • Oversee the administration and execution of all activities and forecasts related to product life cycle management including new product introduction, transition management and others
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to improve supply plan efficiencies and execution
  • Implement and maintain inventory policies that will support restaurant demand while achieving inventory targets and minimizing exposure to obsolescence
  • Serve as escalation source for inbound logistics and supply constraints and collaborate with various business units as necessary to minimize disruptions to supply
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams as necessary during the implementation of new DCs to ensure inventory plans are aligned to DC ramp schedule
  • Promote innovation and support continuous improvement efforts cross functionally including projects related to inventory requirement, demand changes, growth and capacity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering or other related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a demand planning/inventory management role
  • Strong understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Strong aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Experience analyzing large data sets using analytical techniques
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Humility to come in and learn a new business, while applying relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of basic procurement and transportation practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in analytics or statistical modeling
  • 7+ years of experience in a demand planning/inventory management role
  • Experience building reports/analyses on large data sets using analytical tools (e.g. Excel, JMP, SAS, Tableau, etc.)
  • Intermediate understanding of SQL and/or some knowledge of a scripting/compiled/statistical programming language (e.g. Python, R, .NET, C++, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management, and Transportation Management systems
