Overview

This position is an engineering leadership role within Entity Technology Solutions Engineering serving the Supply Chain domain by supporting subsidiary vertical business lines includes distribution and food manufacturing.  These are strategic and fast-growing business domains that rely on cutting edge technology more than ever.

 

This leader is responsible for leading staff engineers and sourcing contract partners to deliver custom cloud-based solutions supporting our restaurant services and transportations business teams.  The solutions created by this team are used by our drivers and transportation managers throughout their deliveries and by our restaurant services team to provide amazing customer service though automation and simplified interfaces on top of complex business processes.

 

Through a leadership team, direct reports, and partnerships, this leader will establish teams, patterns, and processes to deliver solutions which are foundational for Supply Chain vertical business lines.

As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution services networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants. 

 

The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components: 

  • Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants
  • Production Distribution Center – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants
  • Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Software Engineering team containing multiple DevOps sub-teams focused on supporting our restaurant services and transportation business teams.
  • Drive engineering and operational excellence across multiple DevOps teams.
  • Partners with business stakeholders and technical product owners to develop a roadmap which supports the needs of each group.
  • Provides high-level technical leadership for developing mobile applications, web applications, and API’s in a cloud environment.
  • Coordinate with enterprise and solution architects on best practices.
  • Select and manage software and service vendors to optimal performance in support of domain strategies and goals.
  • Serves as the People Leader to a team of Software Engineers and Lead Engineers.
  • Facilities and oversee professional consulting agreements needed to scale with the team’s development and support needs.
  • Lead, develop, and engage direct reports to model Chick-fil-A’s core values and guiding principles.
  • Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition, development, and diversity.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for achieving team goals and objectives, as well as coaching and mentoring.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • 8 years experience in technology solutions delivery
  • 5+ years of leadership experience leading people in an agile software development environment
  • 5+ years of product or platform leadership experience ensuring stakeholder outcomes
  • Experience with mobile application and web technologies and working with designers to provide and excellent end user experience.
  • Proven track record of designing, deploying, and supporting large scale distributed computing systems in a mission critical environment 
  • 6+ years of experience using Python and/or GO and associated frameworks
  • Strong collaboration mindset to gather input from multiple diverse stakeholders to drive a product strategy
  • Deep understanding of AWS technologies, architecture, and security best practices
  • Ability to connect high-level product vision with daily activities of the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with React Native, React, and/or Firebase.
  • Experience with REST API endpoint development using Go or Python/Flask
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong technical aptitude and leadership as well as business-outcome focused
  • Ability to partner with Engineering stakeholders to deliver the most relevant and effective engineering tools
  • Ability to gather product feedback and steward products and tools
  • Ability to lead a portfolio of delivery tools/products through a team of continuous delivery
  • 8+ yrs relevant work experience
