Overview

The Lead Financial Analyst is responsible for providing support in the critical areas of financial planning and enterprise analytics for Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods, also referred to as “Vertical Business Lines” or “VBLs.” This role will focus on understanding the needs of the business and helping to develop the strategy and financial modeling aligned with its objectives, coordinating with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to create solutions, defining and providing performance goals and metrics, and creating/driving internal processes and systems to ensure appropriate due diligence is applied to business decisions. Additionally, this role will be the primary Finance liason for IT and Transportation business partners, as it relates to VBL Operating Expenses, and will provide financial guidance and consulation. The Lead Financial Analyst should possess excellent analytical, problem solving, financial reporting, and interpersonal skills; however, no prior supply chain, manufacturing, or computer science/engineering experience is mandatory, as this position will be working closely with the business leads on Finance related tasks.

Both wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply™ is a distribution service provider focused entirely on serving the unique needs of Chick-fil-A restaurants, while Bay Center Foods™ is a manufacturing facility that primarily focuses on lemon juice production, among other innovations, to help alleviate complexity in the Restaurants. This position will provide multi-site, financial planning and analysis (FP&A) leadership for our growing network.


Due to steady, year-over-year sales and volume growth, combined with the complexity in our Restaurants, VBLs support current and future Restaurant needs through distribution innovation that extends the Chick-fil-A culture of care to those it serves, as well as those it employs. 


The VBLs’ service network is comprised of three primary components:


Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants
Manufacturing Plant – Facilities that manufacturing and produce select menu items for Chick-fil-A Restaurants
Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants

Responsibilities

  • Support the VBLs with all financial related needs such as budgeting, forecasting, purchasing guidance, reporting, and variance analysis for multiple distribution centers and the BCF plant
  • Assist with financial inquiries by analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data for field leadership
  • Work cross-functionally to provide business inputs and refinements to the financial model for our multi-site network
  • Partner with cross-functional groups, including but not limited to IT and Transportation, to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and variance analysis supplemental reports
  • Drive innovations and implement process improvements to help facilitate the business’ ability to scale, while maintaining accuracy and service
  • Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of distribution and manufacturing operations and their impact on financial performance
  • Develop and present financial analyses, reports, and presentations to senior leadership to support decision-making for new investments
  • Proactively solicit feedback across the organization on upcoming projects, future budgetary needs, and variance analysis commentary
  • Identify key business trends through benchmarking, KPI tracking and analysis
  • All other duties as may be assigned at leader’s discretion

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business-related field
  • 5-8 years of relevant business experience
  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills
  • FP&A experience in a multi-location organization
  • Financial Modeling experience
  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems such as Oracle

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • MBA
